Writing Guest Posts for Link Building

link building SEOAfter researching guest blog posting for a few weeks, I have come across some pretty intelligent commentary about it. One expert is of the view that guest posting should not be solely looked at as an opportunity to build up your links. If you write a guest post with the sole purpose of increasing your links, then you might end up compromising the content quality in a bid to maximize links. You should try to promote the brand in an over-arching manner and let a few links flow naturally so that you increase your reputation for quality rather than useless quantity.

Once you have quality content, you can then move on to research your audience and guest post on blogs with good social media links so that readers are compelled to share your content with others. This will create an increase in the number of steady organic links back to your site. Sharing content is easier when you include infographics or videos that users can share. For example, users are more likely to share your content if they think it is funny, i.e. a cartoon, or a video they think is neat. Also, you have to make sure to anchor this type of content with keywords so that they can be found even in image or video searches if someone who looked at them loses track of your blog but remembers your great content.

If you have a talent for producing this type of content that users find useful and even fit to share, then you can agree to let others utilize the content. But this has to benefit you. For example if you let users use your cartoon on their site but with the condition that they link that to your site, then you will be getting a lot of links if your content is really good.

On top of everything, researching the site you are guest posting on for link building is critical because you have to make absolutely certain the site has an audience relevant to you. For example you would not want to write about women’s high-heel shoes in a hunting blog.  Once you have done your research, you should also make an effort to write genuine, well thought-out comments in other people’s posts so that you are more recognized within that blog. Sometimes, they might even allow you to give the address of your site along with your comment and this again means more links.
